  • Performs X-ray /  CT scan procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.

 

  • Performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology.

 

  • Regulates the equipment used to expose the x-ray film, develops and documents, PACS imaging.

 

  • Administers contrast media orally or assists physician in intravenous administration.

 

  • Enters data, such as type of scan requested, slice thickness, scan time, and other technical data into computer, using knowledge of radiologic technology and computed tomography.
  • Starts CT scanner to scan designated anatomical area of patient. Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.
  • Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees and medical staff.

 

  • Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.

Maintains safe and clean working environment.
